Grant is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) who served his articles with Ernst & Young in Cape Town. He has a cumulative 25 years' experience in advertising, management consulting, professional services, retail, and ship-building. Grant served as the Chief Commercial Officer for a major shipyard in South Africa before founding Charter Marine International. He identified a demand, particularly in frontier markets, for vessel financing solutions, and has worked closely with Lenders and Transaction Advisors to develop solutions for clients in these markets. In addition to his role with CMI, Grant has played key roles as a consultant, assisting two businesses with important capital raises. He is passionate about developing vessel financing solutions for clients and has worked with an array of international specialists to achieve this goal.

Randall has been active in several projects across Africa since 2012. Since 2019, Randall has worked with Grant to develop CMI, focusing on developing the business and financial models as well as business strategy. With over 20 years of experience in financial services, the past 13 years have been focused on software and business development entrepreneurship, driving the growth of promising business concepts. After five years in credit risk management at Barclays Capital, Randall transitioned to equity brokerage, gaining valuable experience in multiple areas of the industry. As the co-founder of a fintech company, which he sold in 2005, Randall acquired a deep understanding of the startup funding cycle. He holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of New York. Randall is also a Chartered Market Technician (CMT). A lifelong boater, Randall's passion for the maritime industry is reflected in his work with CMI. The company has been a labor of love, combining his business acumen with a personal passion for boats, having restored a 13-meter classic wooden powerboat.
